No matter what the reason is for you wanting your children to be involved, there are many things that you should think about before you do this, to make sure that you are doing it for the right reasons and so that it does not backfire on you.

Right Reasons

Sometimes it is hard for us to think about why we want our kids to help us. If your children show no interest in your home business, you might feel bad about this and you might be tempted to force them to work for you so that they get interested. Remember that this is something that hardly ever works. If you are doing something that your children simply are not interested in, forcing them to work for you is going to backfire and you are going to find that the children are even less interested in it. It might be something that you have to let go.

On the other hand, if your children have shown an interest, asking them to work for you when they have free time might be a great way to teach them about responsibility. You have several options here if this is why you want them to work for you. First of all, you can use this time to teach them about money by giving them a paycheck. This should, of course, be dependant on the amount of time they put in at your home business and how well they perform the chores that you ask them to do.

No matter what, you should never give your kids something to do that will mess up the entire business. Remember that no matter how responsible your kids seem to be, they are still kids and because kids are going to be kids, things are going to happen that you might not have any control over. Give them small tasks and give them tasks that you can either do yourself very easily or that will not matter much if they do not get it done.

Do not tell your kids this because making them feel important is part of teaching them to be responsible. You want to be sure that they think they are a very integral part of the business, yet you want to make what they do less stress on you so that if something goes wrong with what they are supposed to be doing, they have not messed up a huge part of your business and you do not have to take it out on them.

She led me to her office and into a room where many people are sitting in front of a mini stage, as if they were getting ready for a seminar. My friend invited me to join them. Although I felt strange, I thought that I was only there to check out what she does for a living, I join them anyway. It was a home based business opportunity presentation, a network marketing business.

I sat through the 2 hour business presentation, and I find that the presentation about the product was interesting but I did not get the idea of how the business is built. I was sold by the idea that building a network marketing business can create wealth but I did not understand how it works. At the moment, back in my mind I was thinking how can that be possible, create wealth by selling someone else product? Though the concept was interesting but it did not interest me.

What I did not realize was I have just missed a wonderful home based business opportunity, a network marketing business. It has the potential to generate long term residual income, in another words wealth.

It was not till lately that I have finally open up and be willing to understand more about the true potential of this business. Now here are some reasons that why you may choose to start a network marketing business.

1. It don't cost you a bomb to start

Unlike traditional businesses it involves high capital which many of us are unable to come out with. There are lots of companies to choose from that you can join, some requires a low as $100 to start and some as high as $5,000. Well either way, they cost to start is still very much lesser then starting a traditional business which can cost you as much as a quarter million dollar.

2. No college degree required

This is the best part. There are virtually no barriers to entry except for the start up money of $100 to $5,000. Anyone who wants to start a business can do so, you don't need to have a degree or PHD.

3. Life changing business education

This could be one of the most valuable aspects of joining a network marketing business. Most of the companies will provide in house training for their members to grow their businesses. They will teach you skills such as communication, sales techniques, self esteem, confidence, and the things that you need to know to be successful in the business world. Those are the secrets that you will probably never learn in school.

4. Creating your wealth

There is a difference between making money and creating wealth. To me making money simply mean, trading your time for an amount of dollar. Creating wealth may seem easy to understand but most people simply think that it's making more money. There is more to it. Creating wealth is to create an abundance of income and not to worry when your next paycheck it some. Network marketing business allows you that.

If those are your reasons then a network marketing business is probably your best option. In my opinion a truly equal home based business opportunity.

Organizations in all sectors make this mistake and don't realize it until it is too late.

If you want to leverage the diversity you already have, increase the diversity of your organization, or prevent cultural misunderstandings you need to create a corporate culture that is inclusive at all levels, and in every system and process.

You can get everyone trained by a great trainer, with a great program, but when people leave your organization they take what they learned with them (if they still remember it) and your organization remains the same. Further, reaching resisters and naysayers of diversity efforts is unlikely only with training—a more multi-faceted approach is needed to help these individuals see the value of diversity in their organizations and to bring a greater number of people on board to the initiative.

Simma's Strategies for Creating an Inclusive Organization

Here are some of the steps that need to be taken in order to create an inclusive organization.

Start at the top. It must be championed and led by the CEO and other people in the executive team. Leadership of a diversity and inclusion initiative or culture change cannot be delegated. Other people can help drive it, but it must be viewed as coming from the top. That also means you need to start including it in conversations, discussions, newsletters and e-mail.

Assess your organization with surveys, focus groups and interviews in order to identify strengths, challenges and areas for improvement as it relates to diversity, inclusion and employee satisfaction in specific areas.

Create a cohesive vision and strategy that is agreed upon by members of the executive leadership team. Know where you are going.

Engage all levels of senior management. They need to be part of the vision and have a clear understanding of concepts, roles, business case and benefits, in order to help lead the change.

Develop a communication and information sharing strategy and process in order to share that vision throughout the organization. Send the message in such a way that you create middle manager and employee buy-in. Help them understand how the diversity and inclusion/culture change process will benefit them personally, professionally and as an organization, That will involve internal marketing at all levels.

Use the results of the survey to address specific areas for improvement, most commonly; recruitment, interviewing, hiring, retention, promotion and performance evaluation. Examine your present organizational culture, and identify ways in which your organization can create a more inclusive environment.

Define skills and behaviors that managers need in order to make the initiative/culture change a success and successfully lead a diverse workforce.

Conduct training for all levels of your organization in areas related to diversity and inclusion.

Set up a process for accountability at all levels, relating progress to compensation and evaluations.

Measure results, create the buzz and make it exciting (if its not fun, it won't be done)

The amount of time, order and the steps themselves depend on your organization and goals, but if you want to go beyond compliance, hear new ideas and best practices, reduce cultural misunderstanding and miscommunication, hire and retain the best of the best from everywhere, training alone won't do it. Before you spend your next dollar on diversity training, ask yourselves if you just want people to have a good day, learn and forget a few things or do you want ongoing change that will make you a benchmark organization and the employer of choice.

Placing classified ads, both online and in print, are a great low cost way to reach potential subscribers. There are, of course, tons of places to list free classified ads, but the one or two clickthroughs you will get for the amount of time you will spend placing them just is not worth it.

When composing classified ads, remember that you have limited space to get your message across. You might consider using the same formula as the one for PPC campaigns: an ad title, a few descriptive lines of text, and the URL of your site. For print classifieds, check out your local and regional newspapers. Categorize your ads appropriately. If you have a product about how to work from home, you could probably place it in the Employment section, but if your product is about diets or relationships, you should advertise in another section.

There are also many online venues for placing classifieds, from fixed sites to newsletters. Many newsletters make their profits from placing classified ads. If you can find one relating to your topic with a large subscriber place, it may be worth buying an ad, or even a sequential ad series (once again, repetition of your message is the key to convert prospects into buyers. If the same subscribers see your advertisement for three weeks in a row, more of them will visit your site).

The best way to place classified ads is to seek out e-zines and newsletters that either deal directly with your topic or would be of interest to your target audience. Find out how large their subscriber base is and ask about rates. Comparison shop: look for well-written newsletters or e-zines with low rates and discounts for sequential listings. This will help you make the most of your advertising dollar.

Co-registration lists

Remember when we mentioned prefacing your autoresponder messages with a statement that included "someone else indicated you would be interested in receiving this material". This is where co-registration lists come in.

Signing up for co-registration lists basically enters you into a partnership with other internet marketers who are selling products similar to yours. Each person on the list agrees to request that their subscribers agree to allow their associates to send them product information. Co-registration lists are a cost effective, ultra fast way to build a huge subscriber base, and work faster at bringing results than just about any other method.

The downside to co-registration lists is that they are typically the most expensive method of list building. Still, we are not even talking in hundreds of dollars here. Like PPC campaigns, you pay for subscribers on a per click basis, and only for those subscribers who actually complete your signup process. The average cost per subscriber is around 10 cents. With a quality co-registration list, you can amass a great targeted subscriber base in as little as a week, and start selling your product right away.

The Hard Push Technique....turn on or turn off?

A common marketing technique being taught by a number of different groups and marketing teams is the hard push tactic, where you give the prospect no real chance to refuse, create a massive sense of urgency and try and ensure they have no choice but to do as you wish.

I encountered this the other day with a member of the Dream Team marketing group. Now I am not in anyway trying to trash this course as I understand for some it is a good learning curve, however I have it on authority of another member that they do teach this technique.

For me it began with a couple of emails after I had enquired about the course. I was interested to see how they were teaching people to bring in 20 to 30 people a week into whatever business you were promoting. I asked that the person selling the course call me before 5pm to let me know more details. I didn't hear anything further until I walked in from being out in the wind and rain at 7.30pm, soaked to the skin and the phone rang. My dinner was in the oven and would be another 20 minutes and the cats and dog needed feeding.

The guy asked what I was promoting and of course said what a great company it was and how the course he was going to introduce me to could explode my business. He said there was a live conference call at 8.00pm that night. I explained that I was interested but that I couldn't really attend the call that night. The guy then got very pushy saying that if I was serious about my business I would miss by dinner and attend. I said I was not prepared to do that but would attend another call if there was one in a day or so. I was told that there was no further calls for a week or so and my place had to be specially reserved. I was basically told that I would never succeed in online business if my dinner came first and he hung up.

The next morning I emailed him to say I was no longer interested in pursuing the course as I had been totally put off by his attitude. I received a response saying he was sorry but that is the sales technique he had been taught on the course and it usually worked. Despite what he had said the day before there was another call that night.

I attended this apparent 'live' call to find it was a pre-recorded scripted call giving very little information and all hype and no real content. All I really discovered is that if I paid around $1000 for the course I could attend 4 live calls which would be at around 1am GMT, be taught how to get my own website which I already have and no real details of what the training entailed. I emailed the guy mentioned above to say I was not really interested as 'live' call had been a waste of time and totally uninspiring and that I did not think I would get anything out of it. His response - that I was a failure and would never succeed and I had wasted his time.

Now I have since talked to a couple of others involved in the Dream Team and both have been very friendly and pleasant but both acknowledged that the course probably wasn't for me and that the hard push tactic was one of the techniques taught (as well as memorising sales scripts for the phone etc).

This tactic and the guy's attitude totally put me off. This did not create a sense of urgency but left me feeling I was being bullied into something. I would think very carefully before using this hard push idea to gain sales...yes try and close the sale but not by bullying your prospect.

Not very! You might find that answer surprising, considering I am the president of a recruiting software company. We have been producing recruiting software for 25 years. I have also spent 25 years as a recruiter in the very competitive Los Angeles market.

I talk to a lot of recruiters every day who are trying to decide on recruiting software. There is a variety of recruiting software products out there and it seems as if a new one pops every other day. The ERE has a running Discussion group, "Finding The Right Recruiting Software", where recruiters can ask questions and get advice from each others regarding recruiting software. I get emailed discussions daily from this group and almost every time someone mentions software that I have never heard of.

I get the feeling that many of these recruiters I talk to every day are on the wrong track. They are looking for the secret potion that will turn either themselves or their firm into a super star of the recruiting industry with the slickest resume database and applicant tracking features around.

I maintain that if you take a good recruiter or recruiting firm and make them use bad recruiting software, they are still going to be successful. Conversely if you take a bad recruiting firm and make them use good recruiting software they are still going to be a bad recruiter or recruiting firm.

When I was still recruiting during the day and writing software at night I worked elbow to elbow with fellow recruiters. I used to criticize the recruiter who was always fussing with the computer and their files. Do you know why? I'm guessing you think it is because I am so arrogant that I did not want to listen to anyone else's ideas. You are wrong, although I do like my own ideas! The real reason, however, was that I knew this recruiter was never going to be successful and we would lose money. Time after time, year after year for 15 years, I found that the recruiters who focused on the recruiting tool and gimmicks rather than execution failed. Someone once told me that Vince Lombardi, a very successful football coach, had only about 6 plays. The success was all in the execution!

The recruiter who focuses on the execution of the client and applicant call and is always thinking of ways to improve the call is going to be successful. How you identify this type of recruiter is the subject for another article.

So, why have I spent half of my life writing recruiting software and trying to make it better? Because I love my work and the creativity of it and I know I can give a really good recruiter an edge. I know the recruiting firm will be successful with or without me but I can make a difference. I truly enjoy working with successful people and the rewards and appreciation mean so much more to me.

What makes good recruiting software? This depends on the recruiter or recruiting firm and their business model. There are a number of good recruiting software packages but fundamentally the software must be extremely easy to use, it has to focus on the execution of the client or applicant call and it has to gather information through, what I like to call, the natural process of recruiting. If the software gathers information naturally and easily it will feed into the critical element of recruiting, marketing!
Recruiting software must compliment or follow the natural process of recruiting. Notice I did not say the software must be intuitive! You might ask what exactly is natural? If your applicant tracking, staffing or resume database software requires you to perform tasks that you would not ordinarily do then you must question the recruiting software. Now, I have to admit that everything you do as a recruiter might not be considered natural.
Natural or not, the recruiting process can be simplified into a few basic steps.
1. Get a job order by calling clients and recording the calls for future marketing and follow up.
2. Research a database or databases for applicants or referral sources that would be a good fit for the job order.
3. Call identified applicants and record calls.
4. Determine the applicant(s) to present and present the applicant(s) to the client.
5. Track the interview process to the point of hire and the applicant starting to work for the client.
That's right, only 5 steps! This is what is so alluring to people thinking about recruiting as a career. But any experienced recruiter will tell you that each of these steps demands a fantastic amount of skill, resources and marketing to be successful.
The job of executive search software is to make sure that each of these 5 steps can be performed without any wasted motion. Note that my emphasis is on saving recruiters time and is not on features. I cannot begin to count the features I have reviewed and discarded. They looked like a good idea at the time but simply could not stand up to the daily grind of a recruiter.

I have always said that I could take six seniors majoring in IT from any university and come up with a recruiting system in about 6 months. It would then take me about ten years to make it really work for a recruiter.

I think everyone would agree that there are many ways to perform the 5 steps. But I like to think of them performed in an ultimately natural process. We only give in grudgingly to the limitations of computer code making the recruiter do something besides talking to a qualified applicant or client.

So what would be the ultimate? Have the recruiter sit next to a phone and be told or shown who to call and be informed of the full nature and objective of the call. Have all the information available that might be needed for the call without doing anything but talking. Then when this call is finished all the follow up information regarding this call is recorded without any effort by the recruiter. Then the recruiter talks to the next client or applicant. This is the ultimate goal of any applicant tracking, staffing, recruiting software or whatever else you want to call it. This is what I like to call the natural process of recruiting. To me anything else takes away from the effectiveness of the recruiter.

For example, if using a resume database or any recruitment tool causes the recruiter to stop at the end of the day to 'feed' the database just to keep the rest of the executive recruiters, management and himself/herself informed then the recruiting system is not natural. The recruiter had to perform a task not related to talking to an applicant or client. The recruiter had to run back behind the lines, count noses, inform and organize for the next assault because the army was in disarray. What if the recruiter miscounts?

Notice I have not said a thing about features, even though I have spent half of my life writing them and continue to write them with all the excitement I had 20 years ago. A feature is only valuable if it suits the way a recruiter or recruiting firm works. Also, be careful that you do not get so dazzled with a feature that it takes you off of your successful game. The feature must be an enhancement to what is working for you right now. This is very hard to see and really can only be determined by using the product. Be careful of demos as they can be very misleading. A long trial period is best.

If the recruiting product fits your natural style and it is a proven product with a good track record then you are almost home. Almost? Yes, if the product does not allow you to focus on using the database of information gathered for a powerful and deliberate marketing program then keep looking. Marketing is everything in recruiting!

Chemistry between two individuals is another gray area that can be equally difficult to explain. In the context of a job interview, how is it you can have two candidates with comparable backgrounds, experience and skill sets: one the client loves while the other they could care less if they ever see again.

You may be thinking, "That's obvious: it's a personality issue"--and I would agree, to an extent. But you don't have to dislike someone's personality to not have chemistry with them. I've interviewed a number of very likable (and capable) people that for whatever reason did not make a favorable impression on the client. I'm always trying to uncover the criteria (experience and skill sets notwithstanding) that the hiring manager is going to use to determine the candidate's suitability for their job.

Psychologist Albert Mehrabian said that 93% of communication is non-verbal--the spoken word only accounts for a mere 7% when delivering a message. I agree that body language and tone of voice are significant factors when it comes to effective communication (and developing chemistry), but I believe the spoken word plays an equally important part. Not just the quality of the message, but the quantity of words used. Let me explain: I recently had the opportunity to participate in a group interview with a client who is hiring for a VP-level position. Since the majority of the companies I work with are outside of South Florida, I don't often get the chance to sit-in on the candidate/client meeting. But after this particular one I think I'm going to start insisting on it because the insight I gained was invaluable.

Interviews with executive-level candidates tend to be more conversational in nature as opposed to rapid-fire Q & A sessions. The participants generally view themselves as business-equals and most employers recognize that candidates at this level, particularly those recommended by a search firm, are highly qualified and in-demand. It was during this 90 minute meeting that I watched the chemistry between these two parties begin to develop, then take a dramatic turn downward, only to slowly reignite and begin to build the foundation for a business relationship.

Good conversation should unfold like a tennis match with the two players volleying equally back and forth, not like being shot at on the other side of the net by a ball machine. When one side either dominates the conversation or doesn't equally contribute with their own thoughts and observations, chemistry rarely develops. No one likes to be interrogated. An acquaintance of mine is a reporter with a local television station and talking with him is like being on trial for aggravated homicide: one intensive question after another with him rarely giving any commentary or opinion of his own. Almost as bad is sitting on the receiving side of an "information dump", where the other person goes into mind-numbing detail about topics and issues that are hardly relevant to the discussion.

An interview is but a snapshot of both parties involved: it's a first impression to determine whether or not a potential relationship can develop and flourish. Whether you're a hiring manager or job seeker, keep the "volleying" analogy in the back of your mind during your meeting. Give chemistry every opportunity to develop and you'll find yourself making better employment decisions.

I. Expectations

People need to know what is expected of them. There needs to be agreement as to their responsibilities and outputs. From a motivational angle the question is how do we expect people to get fired up if they don’t know where they are heading. Their goals must be compatible and in synchronization with the Vision and Strategic Business Plan of the unit they are working in.

II. Authority

People want to know, and are entitled to know, what authority they have in the organization. That is, what control over which resources they are entitled to. To achieve the things that are expected of them. Put another way, we can’t expect people to take on responsibility if they don’t have the authority to go hand in hand with it.

III. Support

People want to know who they can get to help and support them when they need it. Delegation isn’t abdication. There must be some built in controls as to how it is all going – people don’t want to be left out on a limb.

IV. Standards

People want to know what the specific requirements or standards of performance of their position are. They want to know what criteria are being used to judge their performance.

V. Feedback

A person wants to know if he or she is doing well, or not so well. In a word – feedback. There is no doubt that from a motivation angle feedback is the food of champions. It is only when people get feedback that they can move towards taking repetitive or corrective action. Without feedback people will not stay motivated for long. Giving feedback is often the most neglected of all the human relations aspects of a business.

We know about the obvious things such as visions,setting goals, planning and taking actions. This is the one quality that without its presence, there would be no leadership.

I will give you my take on the subject. In order to be a great leader, no matter who you are or how powerful your heritage, you MUST have the WILLINGNESS TO LEARN.

Do you think that our Presidents come into office knowing all there is to know about running a country? Absolutely NOT! They must be willing to research different avenues of resolving issues, creating plans, setting goals and setting forth plans of action. All of the obvious things that I mentioned before but in order for these things to happen, you must be willing to aquire the knowledge to do so.

No matter how much education you have had or how much of a genius you have become, there is always something to learn. Once you lose the willingness to learn, your leadership powers will fade like a red blouse washed in hot water! Gradually all of the other qualities that have empowered your presence will fade away and your leadership will dwindle. People will begin to look for new leadership with fresh ideas.

Their ideas are fresh because they allowed themselves to learn new things. Your current knowledge will only carry you so far before it becomes stale and boring.

It would be a lot like trying to write books or articles using the same content that is stored in your brain without adding anything new. KNOWLEDGE is power and POWER is maintained by creativity and CREATIVITY is fed by WILLINGNESS TO LEARN.

Always keep your mind open to knowledge. Thirst for it like a tree thirsts for rain and you will begin to flourish and grow while imbedding strongly implanted roots into the foundation of your leadership.

Anthrax was used in 2001 to spread fear among Americans and frankly speaking, the terrorists managed to fulfill their task. People were afraid of white envelopes with powder and panic started to get through the shield of calmness. Severe cases of the disease occur in South and Central America, South and Eastern Asia, Africa and several countries of the Middle East. Anthrax is a disease that was transmitted to humans from animals, like cattle and sheep. People who are in contact with animals have an increased possibility to get infected and the symptoms show up in a week or even less.

The symptoms of the disease are different, depending on the way of getting infected. One of the ways is the impact of the spores of anthrax onto the skin. At first it looks as if it was loosing moisture and irritated. Then a bump appears that looks like an insect bite. The bump develops into an ulcer that has a black area in the center and slowly spreads its borders. The only way to avoid further problems is to go directly to hospital to get proper medication. The other way to get infected is to inhale the spores of anthrax and let them into the airway. The first symptoms look as if a patient has influenza, but further complications are severe including breathing difficulty and shock similar to that epileptic have. And the last way to get infected is to intestine the spores. The symptoms are much like those people who suffer from indigestion have. But the complications afterwards lead to the lethal case unless a person gets vaccinated.

Vaccination was founded in the USA and released into the public in the 70's. Now all professionals connected with animal contacts get vaccinated obligatory (butchers, veterinarians, farmers). The task of the UN is to spread the vaccination to the areas of major impact. Anthrax is a dangerous disease that was used as a biological weapon and demonstrated the cruelty of people that assassin others in a horrible way. The only weapon we can use to protect us is our knowledge and awareness together with humanity.

In the small seaside village of Abruzzi, Italy the D'Eliso family woke to a bright new dawn. The year was 1910. Pop D'Eliso looked forward to realizing his life long dream of prosperity that was rumored to abound in the new world. They were on their way to America!

The move was over before the family knew it and they settled in a very modest, two story, brownstone in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, USA. Many other Italian families had done the same, and so it wasn't long before the D'Eliso family found and joined a local Italian Presbyterian church. The pastor worked tirelessly to provide a refuge where other Italian immigrants could maintain their traditions. Here they formed many solid bonds as, together, they became acclimated to their new surroundings.

It was there, in 1941, in an area known as East Liberty that Pop's middle son, Anthony, met and married the beautiful Columba Faldo. As their family grew they enjoyed the love and traditions that are very much a part of every Italian family. In 1941 Anthony became a baker and cook for the US Army during WWII. After the war ended, in 1943, the call of California was not lost on this soldier boy, turned man. It didn't take long before the D'Eliso family picked up roots and headed to the new "Promised Land". In 1956 with the cry on their lips, "California here we come!" they left Pennsylvania behind.

1961 found Anthony and Columba settled in Whittier, California where they opened the D'Eliso's Bakery. Their daughter, Gloria, and son, Anthony, worked right alongside their parents after school. They assisted with the daily tasks of operating a bakery, working in the kitchen and at the counter as needed. While the family worked side-by-side, in the kitchen baking, the secret family recipes passed from generation to generation. As the young Anthony grew and matured and learned the secrets from his father his love for baking multiplied. As time passed, the elder, Anthony retired and the younger continued on in the baking tradition with the D'Eliso's family bakery.

During the six years that young Anthony was maturing as a baker in his own right, his sister, Gloria, was busy raising a family. It wasn't until after a recent extended family trip to Italy to visit Gloria's grandparent's villages of Abruzzi and Calabria, the family legacy and passion for baking and serving authentic Italian cookies and cakes was once again ignited. The decision was made to fan those flames as the family meandered down the narrow streets of Italy with their youngest daughter, Elizabeth. When once again on American soil they formed My Little Taste of Italy with the promise to bake and serve, with passion, authentic Italian cookies and cakes.

Today, the family owns and operates My Little Taste of Italy, which has become world famous for their authentic treats. When Liz, as Elizabeth came to be known, created her unique recipe for Cappuccino Brownies the news of their rich and creamy, to die for, goodness quickly spread. It wasn't long before Liz's Cappuccino brownies were dubbed "Orgasmic!" by Jan Verhoeff, one of their loyal customers.

Along with the assistance of Gloria's daughter, Liz, and her grandchildren, My Little Taste of Italy fills orders all across the US and has been known to mail their goodies to the soldiers serving overseas as well.
