Born a native of Auckland New Zealand in 1956, Kenny Baker has 'lived more lives' than most could in one life-time. From running amuck as a street kid, fighting in gangs, dropping out of school at the age of 14, using drugs and finding himself in constant trouble with the law, to a well mannered, immaculately grromed law abiding citizen, entertainer, loving family man, successful entrepreneur, mentor and trainer.

Kenny’s one 'saving grace' came about when his father Frank bought him his first drum kit.

“…I was 13 at the time and I would run home from school every afternoon, throw my schoolbag in the bedroom corner and teach myself to play the drums. I loved it! I’d play vinyl records on a little box record player and drum along to songs for hours ...”

Although learning to play the drums was the beginning of a whole new world for Kenny, he continued to find himself in deep trouble in one way or another. During his last year at high school he actually spent half his time 'wagging' and only half 'attending' school. However, more often than not he would be found at the principal’s office. He dropped out of school in 1970 aged 14. When he wasn’t at home behind his drum kit, he was out with his mates drinking, loitering in the streets, getting beaten up or causing fights with any one of the three 'street gangs' he belonged to, all this occured over a three year period.

In 1972 Kenny’s luck started to change. As his drumming skills improved, he played in a number of party bands and at age 16 he joined an established band that toured New Zealand, recorded, appeared on television shows and in the following year (1973) the band was a headline act in Sydney Australia. Sadly though, three months later the band broke up and Kenny returned home to New Zealand where he continued on in his career as an entertainer. Still living the 'crazy life' Kenny eventually flew back to Sydney where his wayward partying was dramatically cut short one warm September dawn, when he in fact fell from the roof of a four (4) story building in Sydney's notorious Kings Cross.

He sustained multiple crushed vertebrae’s to his spine, completely severed both his tibia and fibula bones in his left leg, suffered paralysis of his left foot, multiple crushes to his right ankle and fractured his left hip. Bedridden for 6 months and barely able to move from his waist down, Kenny was told it was 'highly unlikely' that he would ever walk again.

Two years later he gave up his wheel chair and walking stick...much to his surgeon and doctor’s disbelief.

“… The accident gave me a huge reality check! Iit slowed me right down, and made me look at life in a different way… it was a very humbling experience ...”

In 1977 Kenny’s son Kacey was born.

“... As I held my son in the hospital for the very first time I can remember thinking, 'I have to change...I have to take responsibility and do the best I can for him'.

I didn't want him to go through the pain and anguish that I had gone through ..."

Kenny began phasing himself out of the entertainment industry as he worked towards building a positive environment for Kacey and his then wife, Catherine. It wasn’t an easy transition, for he had either been fired or walked out of 8 jobs within the first 12 months of 'straight' employment. He was turned away from positions because he either didn’t have the work experience, or employers weren’t interested in him since he didn’t have the education. But Kenny persisted so as to turn his life around.

In 1981 his daughter Cherie was born, which inspired Kenny to succeed even more so. He set his career path in sales and following rejection after rejection, Kenny secured his first sales position with an upholstery wholesaler. He started attending sales training courses and would listen to sales training cassettes in his car as he drove from customer to customer.

The sales courses started paying off and it showed in the sales figures...when he reached his first milestone as Sales Person of the Month. Two years later, he started a new sales role and was soon the Top Sales Producer for eight consecutive months, winning awards and earning himself the big commissions! Kenny was making a name for himself, but there was conflict on the home front and in 1983 and Kenny and his wife separated. He continued working while raising his son and daughter on his own and later that year in November his 2nd daughter Jasmin was born.

“... I have a complete and total respect for what a mother or single parent goes through raising their children, you never stop, your on call 24/7 even when you’re sick ...”

The heat was on to keep his head together while raising his son and daughter who were 6 and 2 at the time, plus keeping himself in full time employment.

“…I didn’t know what to do, I was an emotional wreck back then . . . but I started listening to more motivational cassette tapes and attending self-transformational seminars to find out how I could keep it all together and do better . . . I even bought a 12 pack cassette program by Zig Ziglar called 'Raising Positive Kids In A Negative World' to find out how to be a better dad.

Remember, this was the street kid drop out who knew nothing other than trouble! Up until this point, he had never read a book in his entire life ...but in the following 4 years Kenny had read well over 1,000 books, some he re-read 20 times or more in his pursuit for success.

All the books, all the seminars and tapes began to pay off even more so!

In 1985 Kenny secured a national sale role with a company and in less than 12 months

he was promoted to sales manager responsible for high volume product turnover and sales budgets.

Two years later he attended a Bob Proctor 4 day seminar that literally put everything he had learned about personal development into perspective.

“…I was sitting in the seminar, thinking this is what I want to do, I want to show people and teach them what I have learnt. I want them to know what I know. I want to lead them to the answers they’re looking for. . . I know there are people out there who will say well that’s just plane common sense may be so but not everyone has been blessed with that privilege”

The following year in 1988 Kenny flew to Canada to work and train with the Bob Proctor team. That same year he returned to New Zealand to distribute the Bob Proctor material and the Born Rich Video Seminar. In 1992 Kenny was contracted by distributors in Sydney to present the Born Rich Program and workshop. All the tapes, books, and seminars were paying off!

During this time a twist happened.

“…I was presenting a module on fulfilling your hearts desire, talking about doing things

you love to do, and all of a sudden I felt an empty feeling come over me…I had remembered how I quit playing the drums earlier in life and at the moment I thought, I want to play the drums again, I felt I had not fulfilled my dream. The crazy thing is I had worked so hard to get to where I was and was succeeding far beyond anything I had ever done before but I had to do it”.

Kenny dropped everything to play the drums, his associates tried to talk him out of it saying it was a foolish thing to do, his family found the change difficult to adjust to because all they had ever seen him in was a suit and tie.

“…Call it regression, a mid life crises or what you will but I had to do it. My dad passed away 2 years prior without living his dreams and I didn’t want to look back at the end of my time and think ‘if only I had…’

After playing in several bands and getting it out of his system Kenny started his own Limousine business in Sydney where many a celebrity, movie star and socialite became his regular clients between 1993 and 1997.

In 1998 Kenny moved with his son and daughter to the Gold Coast. But shortly after their arrival his son Kacey returned to Sydney to pursue his career aspirations while Cherie remained with him to attended college with her sister Jasmin who had moved over from New Zealand.

Once settled on the Gold Coast Kenny pursued a career in radio and following an announcing course being conducted by a radio station at the time he jumped on it.

In August 1998 hosting the Weekend Breakfast show, before taking over the mid-day show “Funk Lunch” and then moving to the station’s afternoon drive time spot “Drive Time Express”. 2002 saw Kenny move to The Big Drive Home on 105.7 Radio Metro where Kenny became famous for. . . “This is Tico B Driving You Home” each week day afternoon. Putting his entrepreneurial skills into play it was only natural to create

another business named Tico B Entertainment which today is one of the Gold Coast’s premier dj agency’s to night clubs, clubs, hotels, and for private functions.

Having achieved his musical goals Kenny felt the desire to return to marketing Personal Development programs once more. However the marketing style had changed somewhat some what from off line marketing to on line through the internet. However, with his goal in mind he embarked on a new venture.

For over 3 years Kenny searched and researched different home based business systems until he found the right one. He failed at two that he set up and invested thousands of dollars into them without any financial return.

“Failing is a learning curve. I hear so many people say Oh that won’t work you’ve tried that before. But how do you know whether it will work or not unless you try it. You don’t say to a baby when they first attempt to walk oh don’t do that you’ll never walk.

The baby may fall but it gets back up again, and repeats the process until they can walk.

I’m not saying be an idiot and give anything a shot and hope for the best…what I’m saying is if you have researched the business the best you can and you think it’s a viable proposition and you truly believe you can succeed at it DO IT!

Kenny’s goal was to find a home based business that would fit around his lifestyle, from his two last failures he admits it wasn’t the business that failed, but himself. He failed to properly research them he didn’t understand what was required of him to succeed

Since he was so new to internet marketing at the time. But after a couple of years of learning he was ready to take the next step.

“ As a result of my previous ventures I learnt what I wanted in a home based internet

business. I narrowed it down to 8 expectations.

1) The product had to be personal development because I believe so strongly about learning to be better than you are…and the product had to be the best I could find.

2) The company had to be just as passionate about the product as I was if not more.

3) The company had to care about the people that join them, encourage their success and

provide the right tools to help every one build a successful business regardless of their

experience

4) I hated the idea of having to pass up my sales commission on my first 2 sales. That really pulled a nerve with me I thought that was a rip off!

I wanted to get paid on all my sales

So my next expectation was I wanted all the people who sign with me to stay with me on my team.

5) I also did not agree with giving up my first 2 team members to my sponsor, I wanted to keep everyone with me on my team.

6) I wanted to lead train and support my own team and I wanted my team to have access to ongoing training and support from the company for as long as they wanted it.

7) I learnt from the other projects I worked on how important marketing is. It was my ideal that a marketing system be apart of the business.

8) It had to have a wealth building potential to generate a million dollars or more within two to three years while helping everyone benefit the same way.

After 3 years of searching and testing Kenny found what he had been looking for.

He now has the business in place and is fast becoming the number one leader and producer in Australia.
